Okita Sōji (沖田総司

, (1842 or 1844 - July 19, 1868) was the captain of the first unit of the Shinsengumi, a special police force in Kyoto during the late shogunate period. He was a well-known genius swordsman, being one of the best swordsmen of the Shinsengumi, along with Saito Hajime and Nagakura Shinpachi.

The first historial character I for my 100 swords project.
And this is where i get my online identity "Okita" from.

Peacemaker kurogane is another story involving the shinsengumi like rurouni kenshin, if you've heard of that. It's about two brothers, tetsunosuke and tatsunosuke ichimura whose parents were both killed by the choshu and testu joins the shinsengumi to try and train so he can get revenge on them for his dad. Tatsu already works there as a bookkeeper. I read the manga first and then learned that it was discontinued but then they started making the manga version of the anime. The older version is what happens after the anime. I have the whole boxset of it.
