Where should I begin to describe why I featured this piece today? The superb details, amazing light effects combined with an accurate palette giving the right feeling to a dynamic action scene, which by the way are not easy to find these days.

Awesome colors and renders!
Any idea what the latest is on releases / publishing and all that good stuff? I'd kill to have this on my bookshelf!
The tradepaper back was released around a month ago under Radical Publishing
IFX featured Shrapnel in the news section of their January 2009 issue. As soon as I saw it, I vowed to track it down and read it to death. That there is some of the finest comic book art I have ever seen.
I have a copy of said issue. The article takes up about three quarters of a page. You can't see any of the art in great detail, but the article alone makes it sound absolutely fantastic.
I really think this shows a bold and progressive step forward for comics as a medium. I've seen plenty of books that looked amazing, but lacked the story and solid writing to back up the amazing artwork. Shrapnel looks to be a product that scores bang on the money.
When I first saw the artwork, I remember thinking 'Wow - this book looks amazing!' There's bucket-loads of atmosphere in the art, and it's very pretty to look at while remainng dynamic and clear.
It really put me in mind of a few books I read recently, like The Red Star, Slaine: Books Of Invasions and ABC Warriors: the Volgan War. All of them are fantastic books to look at, with satisfying stories.
Shrapnel has gone straight to the top of my 'must have' list!
