The Butterfly Messagers

Centuries ago, the greatest Onmyoji of her time, Fujiwara Kaoru, fought and managed to seal the demon lord An-shin within the sacred
mountains. But demon lord managed to cursed Kaoru to live as long as he does, wishing one day to personally kill her.

For countless years, Kaoru guarded the seals of the demon lord from his minions while sending out her shikigamis in the form of butterflies
to seek out a hero that will be strong enough to finally destroy the demon lord.

As years went by, An-shin grown stronger in power, while Kaoru notice her own power had begin to wane due prolong exposure to the demonic power, but yet none of the shikigami ever return.

But tonight one return.








Side notes

The two foxes were spirits that Kaoru had saved, they had stay to acompany her, and will sometime ventures out of the seals to help in the search for heroes.

The shikigami were powered by Kaoru, they could stay active for almost a year, until the power run out. They could be charged back with power so as to return to Kaoru by any onmyoji, but only one with a pure spiritual power can reenter the sared grounds


Been a while since I created new character and new story plot for her. She was meant to be the second pepper submission, but after a short while thinking about what is the story behind the picture, I find that the character is interesting enough(at least for me) to recreate as an original character and story.

The Butterfly shikigamis are partly inspired by a part in Jin Yong's novel "The return of the Condor Heroes" where the trapped heroine write messages on the wings of bees hoping her lover can find her using the message
