Project 100 Swords Yoko

Behind the sweet smile lies the defending champion of the yearly Autumn High school Kendo tournament, Yoko Takawa, a young master in the Nito-ryu.

Well this autumn tournament is gonna be her's again

Notes:
Yoko was meant to be the main character along side Xane for a previously planned manga, then I always have trouble drawing girls that why she doesn't appear much and her character profile change alot as I struggle to fit her into the story as I can't make up my mind whether shall she be a flower vase or someone who can fight well against.

And doing this piece really make me wanna go back to my kendo training which I had stopped for over 4 years since my life got very busy and unsettled, let hope I can find time to return to training soon.

Done with photoshop cs2 and painter IX

sigh:: I wish I can color like you......still trying out Photoshop...-.- so hard.. Really like your picture though...as a kendoka I find this really accurate...the detail of the bogu is awesome!!! :+favlove: The color of the kekogi is different though..never seen a black and red one. Normally girl wear white/black or white/white. (just extra information) will there be another Yoko pix???

thank you, the colour of the gi is meant to be her own family dojo colours.

yup i will do up more when time permits me to.

For your info, I am also a a kendoka, but not much time for me to practice with my current job

you should make her a main character. that appears once in awhile. but she is a pretty character that looks like she can fight

I like the dutch angle, and the atmosphere of this piece. It has a soothing feel to it.

well she is more powerful then the averge people in the story, but against characters like Xane, it will be another different case
